We saw some spectacular island views today from the front seats of our Whisper Helicopter with Carl madly clicking away with three different camera’s, while I, his trusty assistant just kept handing him what he needed. It was actually quite hilarious because Carl had to keep shifting his sunglasses off of his face to shoot, and so here is the mad professor valiantly clicking away as we move quickly across the island while his glasses are hanging down to his chin. We’ll share some of the video later after we pick it up, but take my word for it, it was priceless.

The waterfalls and ocean shorelines were so very dramatic from the air. We saw sea turtles and manta ray’s along the reef. It was very fun, but with all the turns and the up and down motion, I was a bit nauseous by time we landed.

We headed back to Lahaina and had just enough time to get cleaned up for our Luau! We met some very nice folks - one couple on their 25th anniversary Mary and Mark, (the only other time they had been to Hawaii was their honeymoon 25 years earlier!) and a newlywed couple - Daisy and Howard, married in San Francisco but living in Boston. Daisy was sweet, but I didn’t really care for Howard, he was quite arrogant. The food was absolutely delicious, particularly the guava glazed chicken! I will definitely be trying to replicate that at home. (Pam - you would have loved it too!)
